Our Church

Swanage Methodist Church has a membership of about 90 mainly retired people. However, there are a number of younger families with children who have been baptized at the church, most of whom attend the all-age worship services on a regular basis. Services are enhanced by the regular use of data projection equipment and music is provided by an enthusiastic instrumental group. There is a mid-week prayer group, women's meeting and two house groups meeting on a monthly basis. About 25 Mums, Dads, or carers attend the weekly Toddlers Group with their young charges and a similar number attend Notelets, a music group for pre-school children. Tetra, the fortnightly youth club, has a membership of around 15 - 20 young people enjoying a variety of activities. The Sanctuary

The church hall is used for a variety of community activities including a dancing school, badminton, tai chi and Brownies. During the summer months various uniformed groups from other parts of the country use the excellent facilities, staying on the premises for their summer camps.

The local Churches Together scene is strong and the church plays its part in all the ecumenical activities which take place.
