Tetra Youth Group

Dear Parents and Tetra Members,

We’re writing to let you know about some exciting changes which will be happening from September 2010.

Tetra will take place every week during term time as well a new group, called “Juice” for those in school year 7-9, which will take place on Tuesday evenings (also every week during term time). Both groups will be led by Swanage Methodist and CofE Churches together.

Tetra will be aimed at those in school years 3-6, but any current Tetra members who are in year 7 or above will be welcome to Tetra and Juice.

Tetra nights will begin with the whole group together for a time which will include games, challenges, “The TETRA Factor” – (bring along your talents!), as well as a short time to look at a Christian message, in a fun and relevant way - similar to Tom’s school assemblies which most of the first and middle school members of Tetra will be familiar with.

Juice will run in term time with occasional holiday activities as well.

We will be using Christian based material on alternate weeks to encourage and learn from with an emphasis on 'learning to lead' so providing the young people the chance to prepare part / all of a session with support and assistance from the leaders.

Every other week will be a social week and ideas for these times will be welcomed from the young people.

Tetra will remain at 75p per week and there will also be a tuck shop. Juice will be free of charge. The timings will be slightly different with Tetra timings being 6.00-7.30pm (doors opening at 6.50). Juice will run from 6.15 pm to 7.45 pm which will include an overlap between Juice and Refresh (a group for those in year 10 and above) of 15 minutes allowing for the younger and older youth to meet up.

In both groups, we will have special activities from time to time, like this year’s trip to Tower Park which took place in February.

In planning for the future, we have focused on proving our children and youth with groups which are exciting and relevant as well as providing a sense of belonging and opportunity. If you have any questions or would like to know more, please contact us – our details are below!
